Welcome to Runestone RV Park!

Nestled just outside of Heavener Oklahoma, Runestone RV Park provides daily, weekly, and monthly rental spots for your camper or RV. We also have several Tent Sites available as well!

Our park offers a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where guests can rejuvenate their spirits and reconnect with nature. Whether it’s embarking on a scenic hike through various trails in the area, casting a line into the shimmering waters of a nearby lake, or simply unwinding by a crackling campfire under a blanket of stars, every moment here is an opportunity to immerse oneself in the tranquility of nature. Tent Sites – $20 per night

We have 20 RV sites and 4 tent sites available.

Sites include 30/50 AMP connections, water, and sewer. We also feature a full bath house close by.

One of the prime attractions in the region is the Ouachita National Forest, boasting miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The Talimena Scenic Byway is a must-visit. This winding highway traverses the peaks of the Ouachita Mountains, treating travelers to panoramic views of lush valleys and vibrant foliage during the fall season. Hiking trails along the byway offer opportunities to delve deeper into the rugged beauty of the landscape, with stops at landmarks like the Winding Stair Mountain and the Black Fork Mountain Wilderness Area.

Wister Lake State Park

A gateway to the beautiful Ouachita National Forest, Lake Wister State Park in southeast Oklahoma offers five camping areas around the 115 miles of scenic shoreline. This outdoor haven offers park visitors a variety of activities including hiking, camping, biking, boating and water skiing on the 7,300 surface acres of Lake Wister. As an added bonus, the park is also equipped with a water spray park, a popular destination for children and adults alike.

Heavener Runestone Park

Heavener Runestone Park is located in Southeastern Oklahoma in the town of Heavener, here you will find a 55-acre park best known for being the home of a large sandstone that contains 8 markings believed to have been a boundary marker created by Vikings between 600 and 800AD. This park offers a little over 2 miles of hiking trails, a scenic overlook with a view of the city of Heavener.

Cavanal Hill

Cavanal Hill is boasted as the world’s highest hill at 1,999 ft above the surrounding terrain. Cavanal Hill derives its name from the French word meaning “cave.” Cavanal Hill is the site of five-mile runs, mountain bike races, and the famous Cavanal Hill Killer 5-Mile Walk. Travel up four and a half miles of blacktopped road to the top and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Poteau River valley and surrounding areas.

Talimena Drive

The Talimena National Scenic Byway, a breathtaking 54-mile route in southeast Oklahoma, is known for its spectacular views. Talimena Drive was built specifically to highlight the area’s beautiful foliage and spans one of the highest mountain ranges between the Appalachians and the Rockies. View one stunning panorama after another as you travel along forested peaks between Talihina, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
